Newness

Newness falls over me like a blanket of warmth. It is the manifestation of Grace in a profound form, that each day we have a fresh beginning. What freedom my soul finds knowing I am unencumbered by my past. Yesterday is over and tomorrow isn’t here, so I revel in the presence of a blank canvas to be whoever I want to be. I ask myself, “If I could be anyone today, who would I want to be”?  And simply put, I want to live like Jesus today. To operate as if He were physically standing by my side all day. So then, how would I speak? How much would I say, “Thank you”? Would I choose to take on more burdens of the world, or release all my worries to the one who covered it all? How would I interact with other people- in service or expectation?

By Grace I have been given a new day and by Grace I have been made new. Today I chose to display a version of myself that is cleaner, sharper and free of self-imposed nervousness. Today I will live like Jesus and take on the joy of the Spirit.
