Amazing Grace

How beautiful is the concept of grace? Undeserved favor is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. It is displayed in acts of mercy. Pardoning the guilty. Leading with forgiveness. Humbling ourselves in front of those who are weaker because we know the indescribable strength of the God who also sacrificed for us in order to find our salvation. Grace is abandoning the charges we place on those who wrong us, not because we are meek, but because we see more clearly our own brokenness than those of others.

Grace restores and breathes life into places where we are hopeless. It claims that we don’t have to wait for anything or anyone to try to “fix” a situation. We have the spiritual authority to model Christ and demonstrate the freedom-giving grace that flows through us by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.
